At 12:05 PM EDT, the National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a strong thunderstorm near Tybee Island, Georgia capable of producing a tornado.
Chatham Emergency Management Agency sounded the outdoor warning system in conjunction with the NOAA Weather Alert System.
As of 12:30 PM EDT, Chatham County remains under the following watches and warnings:
Tropical Storm Warning
Flood Watch
These watches and warnings will be in place throughout the evening hours. Residents are encouraged to monitor NOAA weather radios as well as local radio and television should additional warnings be issued.
