Staff NELL HART

nell pic .jpgNell Hart is a native of Candler County and grew up in the small town of Metter located approximately 75 miles west of Savannah, Georgia.  She is the fourth child of twelve children; seven girls and five boys.

Mrs. Hart is a 1970 honor graduate of Lillian Street Elementary and High School.  After graduating she received advanced education from Albany State University pursing a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with an emphasis in Science Education; Savannah State College University receiving certificates in Bookkeeping and Accounting; Savannah Technical College continuing education in Microsoft programs and the International College of Correspondences earning a Diploma as a Medical Office Assistant.  She is also a graduate of the Management Development Program of the University of Georgia.  She attends State and Federal training courses throughout the year to continue her Emergency Management education.

She married her best-friend and sweetheart Marion and had a beloved son Marlin.

In 1982 Mrs. Hart began her career as a temporary employee with the Chatham County Tag Office.  She worked as a Clerk and later advanced to Senior Clerk with the Chatham County Sheriff's Department . 

Currently Mrs. Hart is the Administrative Assistant for the Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) and she has been an employee with the Agency since August of 1988 when CEMA was known as Chatham County Civil Defense.

Mrs. Hart is a dedicated professional who is committed to growth and business networking.  Mrs. Hart supports and serves thousands of governmental clients, businesses and industries.  Ms. Hart brings tremendous talent to the development of CEMA's disaster preparedness designs and publications.

Ms. Hart developed and designed Chatham County's first Tornado Safety booklet.  With data input from CEMA's Director, Clayton Scott, she also designed Chatham County's first Evacuation Map and developed the first "About CEMA" brochure.     

Her hobbies include creating various assortments of cards, programs, book markers and creations of all kinds.  She also enjoys watching football and displaying the love of Christ.
