Headlines CEMA Teams with Heideldesign to Launch New Website
The Chatham Emergency Management Agency recently teamed with Heideldesign to redesign its website to facilitate the distribution of disaster preparedness information to the public. By creating a more “user-friendly” website, CEMA hopes to reach a broader audience interested in learning what to do before, during and after a disaster.
During normal operations, CEMA’s new website allows visitors to read about current events, check local weather and watch streaming videos of CEMA’s Public Service Announcements. The site also includes a “Hot Topic” box focusing on preparedness tips relevant to all Chatham County residents. Visitors will also be able to search the site in a variety of different ways.
During emergency situations, visitors will find a new front page with the most up-to-date information about the specific emergency. Links will be located to the side of the page for visitors to navigate back to the original revised website if desired. Archived news releases will also be listed for the event as well as any specific guidance for the public.
“It is essential the public has the most current and accurate information available about all emergencies that may affect Chatham County. Through redesigning the website, we hope more Chatham County residents will use it as a tool to assist in maintaining their family preparedness efforts,” stated Dennis Jones, Assistant Director of CEMA.
CEMA’s new website launched in December and will remain an excellent source of public information for all Chatham County residents.
