Headlines Talmadge Bridge Closure Monday Morning
Monday morning motorists, take heed - the Talmadge Bridge will be closed between approximately 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to allow four large cranes to be transported up the Savannah River to the Garden City Port.The United States Coast Guard will close the river starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23. At approximately 9:25, Savannah-Chatham Metro Police will conduct a rolling road closure on both sides of the bridge and bring all traffic to a halt to allow these oversized cranes to pass under the bridge safely.
The total estimated time of the closure is 30 minutes. Police are encouraging anyone who may use the bridge in the morning to make plans to cross the bridge before 9:00 a.m. or delay crossings until after 10:30 a.m.
