CERT Training: Coming in September!
COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE Training
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. Through training, citizens can manage utilities and put out small fires; treat the three killers by opening airways, controlling bleeding, and treating for shock; provide basic first aid; search for and rescue victims safely; and to be effective during an emergency.
On September 9th, 16th and 30th, CEMA will host another CERT Training event at the Southside Station #3 (2009 Grove Point Rd.). Individuals interested in attending the course, must be available each day from 8-4.
