ShakeOut_large box logo.gif

On April 28, more than a million people across 10 states will "drop, cover and hold on" while participating in The Great Central U.S. ShakeOut.  Already more than 150,000 Georgia residents have signed up for the ShakeOut.  The Chatham Emergency Management Agency is encouraging residents to participate in this effort, joining homes, businesses, schools and public spaces across Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Why? Major earthquakes can and will happen anywhere you work, live or travel in the central U.S., including Georgia. To participate, visit www.ready.ga.gov and look for the link on the home page. Registration is free and includes information on how to plan the drill and communicate with others about earthquake preparedness.
