This week for #VolunteerOpportunityAwarenessMonth, we are shining the spotlight on our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Our CERT program is part of the Chatham County Citizens Corps Council and was formed as part of a National and statewide effort designed to help neighborhoods prepare for and respond to catastrophic disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and other major emergencies.

The Chatham Emergency Management Agency conducts monthly tests of our emergency warning sirens on the first Wednesday of each month at 12 noon. If you hear a siren at any other time, it means take cover! Read more about our warning siren program.×
