News CEMA Encourages Residents Without Power to Be Mindful of Hot Weather

(Chatham County, GA - June 19, 2011) 

5,500 customers in the areas of East Savannah, Ardsley Park, and the Islands are still without power from last night's storm.  This outage is expected to last possibly into Monday. 

There is a Heat Advisory for the area until 8pm, with heat index values of 104 to 107.

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPS IS EXPECTED.  DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS, STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM, STAY OUT OF THE SUN AND CHECK ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.
