CEMA Closely Monitoring Tropical Storm Ida’s Track
Savannah, GA – November 9th, 2009
As Tropical Storm Ida approaches the Gulf Coast, Chatham County
residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to take necessary
precautions. It is expected that Ida will continue to weaken as it
approaches the Gulf Coast. Tropical Storm Ida will move Eastward across
Georgia and may affect areas of Chatham County tomorrow and Wednesday.
Residents can expect heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher
amounts in excess of 4 inches possible.
In addition, winds associated with Tropical Storm Ida may affect some
areas of the County. Residents are encouraged to remove objects, such
as lawn furniture, from their yards that may be moved during heavy
winds.
Chatham County residents are urged to check preparedness requirements,
keep informed and be ready for quick action if weather conditions become
increasingly worse.
The Chatham Emergency Management Agency will continue to make periodic
updates as of Tropical Storm Ida moves across Georgia.
