Section of Gulfstream Road Will Be Closed for Railroad Repairs
Savannah, GA 
 
 
The Georgia Department of Transportation in partnership with CSX Transportation announced today that Gulfstream Road, between Robert B. Miller Road and State Route 21, will be closed to through traffic for CSX railroad crossing repairs.  Work is expected to begin at 8 AM Monday, February 15th, 2010 and will be completed by 1 PM Friday, February 19th 2010.
 
CSX Transportation crews will perform repair work on the railroad crossing.  All through traffic will be rerouted to the following routes:
 
From Gulfstream:
Turn right at Robert B. Miller Road to Dean Forest Road (SR 307). Turn left on Dean Forest Road (SR 307) to SR 21.  Turn left on SR 21 North to Crossgate Road.
 
From Crossgate:
Turn left on SR 21 South to Dean Forest Road (SR 307).  Turn right on Dean Forest Road (SR 307) to Robert B. Miller Road.  Turn right on Robert B. Miller Road to Gulfstream Road.
 
State Route 21 through traffic will not be affected by this road closure.  SR 21 Northbound left turn lane will be closed at Gulfstream Road.  SR 21 Southbound right lane will be closed at Gulfstream Road.
 
This is a WORK ZONE and extreme caution is necessary.  Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone.  Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.  
 
Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about this or any other construction project on interstates and state routes. Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, and delays due to inclement weather. Callers also can transfer to operators to request assistance or report incidents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. More information is available at www.511ga.org.
