Multiple Lane Closures:I-16 Westbound Left Lane Closure from Mile Post 165 to Mile Post 164 and I-516 Westbound Ramp on Exit 5 to I-16 Westbound. 
 
WHEN:6:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, to 5:00 a.m., Monday February, 22. 
                                                                                                                                    
WHERE:I-16 Jim Gillis Highway westbound left lane closed from mile post 165 to mile post 164, and I-516 westbound ramp on exit 5 to I-16 westbound.
                        
 
WHAT:The contractor for GDOT will be performing bridge repair work on the I-16 westbound bridge. Westbound traffic on I-16 will be shifted from a closed left lane to the right through lane.  Exits 164 B and 164 A on  I-16 will be open. Westbound exit 5on I-516 to I-16 westbound will be closed. A detour will be provided for I-16 westbound traffic via exit 3 to US 17/SR 25 (Ogeechee Rd.), to SR 307 (Dean Forest Rd.), to I-16 westbound at entrance ramp 160.
 
I-16 eastbound traffic will not be affected during this repair work. 
 
This is a WORK ZONE and extreme caution is necessary.  Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.
