Preparedness WIN A FREE WATER FILTER: GET PREPARED
During Severe Weather Awareness Week the Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) wants all residents to get prepared. Now is the time to plan for an emergency, not when it is too late.
One of the ways you can prepare is by putting together your own personal supply kit. You should fill it with the essentials you would need during an emergency. Think about what you would need if you lost power for a couple of hours, even a couple of days? What could you put in your supply kit to help during that time? You would need flashlights, batteries, and if you're left without power for long enough, food and water.
In an effort to motivate residents to prepare, CEMA is giving away water filters to those who put a supply kit together. 25 residents with the best kits will win a filter. Remember, you don't have to put together a huge kit to win. We want you to put items in your kit that would be useful during an emergency.
Rules: Residents must submit a photo of their supply kit. To make sure it's your kit, in the photo, include a note that says "My Supply Kit." Please don't use a photo that is not your own. Also, include a brief list of what you put in your kit. Please send all photos to klfoster@chathamcounty.org. Winners will be posted on the CEMA website and Facebook page.
Entries are due by February 10th.
