Citizen's Hurricane Academy- July 20, 2019

On July 20, 2019 at Savannah High School, CEMA, Memorial Health and WTOC will partner to bring the citizen's of Chatham County their very own Citizen's Hurricane Academy. Residents will have the opportunity to take classes from 9:30 am-3:30 pm on classes such as Hurricane Preparedness, Stop the Bleed, Hands Only CPR, Understanding Your Flood Zone (and Your Risk), National Weather Service Storm Predictions and so much more! During our morning sessions, children aged 5-12 will also have the opportunity to learn and engage in emergency preparedness!

This FREE event will ensure you, and your entire family, are ready for any tropical weather heading our way in the 2019 Hurricane Season. Registration will open soon, but keep your eye on this website and also our social media pages to learn more!

The Chatham County Siren System

The Chatham Emergency Management Agency conducts monthly tests of our emergency warning sirens on the first Wednesday of each month at 12 noon. If you hear a siren at any other time, it means take cover! Read more about our warning siren program.
