CEMA Invites the Public to Participate in Disaster
Commodities Point of Distribution Exercise

Hurricane Season will be here soon and Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) is asking for the public's help as we practice our Points of Distribution Plan (POD).

On Wednesday, March 6, 2019, the City of Savannah and Chatham County will be handing out free samples of disaster supplies. These supplies include bottle water, plastic tarps, and disaster preparedness information. The items represent supplies that may be distributed to the public following a disaster such as a tropical storm or a hurricane.  Residents are encouraged to participate in the exercise by driving through the POD to collect the commodities. Community involvement and feedback is vital to our success!

WHAT: City of Savannah and Chatham County Points of Distribution (POD) Full Scale Exercise
WHEN: Wednesday, March 6th, 10:00AM - 2:00PM
WHERE: 602 East Lathrop Avenue (behind Savannah Police Department Precinct 2)

NOTE: This event is being conducted as a part of the National Guard's Patriot South Exercise. National Guard Units from several states will be in our area during the week of March 4th-8th conducting missions they would normally be assigned while supporting disaster response operations throughout the US. Stop by the POD and thank these Guard Members for their service to our community and our Nation.
