Gavin was born in Tucson, Arizona, and raised in Longmont, Colorado. Following his high school graduation, he began working on car electronics, where he learned his love of tinkering with electronics. In 2006, enlisted in the United States Army and over the course of his 20-year career, he served across the country, with four overseas deployments.

Gavin’s service was rooted in aviation, where he specialized in Avionics, electronics, helicopters, and unmanned aircraft.

He has an associates in unmanned aircraft maintenance and is working towards his bachelors in cybersecurity. He comes by his love of tinkering in electronics and radios honestly as his father has been in a hamm radio club all of his life. 

Today, Gavin enjoys spending his time perfecting his barbecue skills, and, above all, raising his four daughters.
